A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of capturing this sweet little girl’s One Year Old Session. Her mama came to me with the cutest boho themed inspo photos, so we got the work finding the perfect props to make it our own!

We knew we HAD to have the teepee. I got this one off of amazon. The teepee came with the battery powered lights that are shaped as stars and also with some eucalyptus greenery. We opted to use our own greenery that fit our vision a little better, but the eucalyptus greenery will definitely come in handy for another shoot! The teepee itself was fairly easy to put together and is available for sessions in the future. Mama brought many of the other props, including the boho feathers, dream catcher, shag rug, flower crown, balloons, stool, and the “ONE” letters. The beige blankets and pillows were just things I already had at home. Hobby lobby currently has a great selection for fall florals that worked perfectly for our theme.

The inspo pictures mama sent me resembled an open field with a tree line, so I knew that Jerry Erwin Park in Spring Hill, TN would work perfectly for us! Luckily, they had recently cut the grass in the field so that it wasn’t too high for baby. I would have loved if the grass had already changed to those beautiful fall colors to fit our boho theme better, but I think that the green-ness of the grass ended of fitting quite nicely into a whimsical light vibe for such a sweet little girl’s birthday.

Isn’t she precious?? She was such a joy to capture. Seriously, a happy baby.

We actually got really lucky that day with the weather. For the first half of the day, it rained lightly but CONSTANTLY! I was nervous we would have to reschedule our session, but we ended up getting a window between 5-6pm of no rain so that we could shoot! I had many towels and blankets underneath baby Dallas so that she wouldn’t get wet from the grass. You can see our photos do have more of an overcast look, but I think it ended up working for us!

Just look at that darling little outfit! I love all of the little details on the back.

Next, came the cake smash! Mom provided this gorgeous cake.
While the cake was beautiful, Dallas wan’t exactly a fan. She had fun at first playing with it and watching us cheer her on, but she didn’t love the taste.

Happy birthday, Dallas! Again, it was so fun getting to capture such a special time in your life. I hope you all enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them!
