We live out in the suburbs of Spring Hill now, but for a long time I worked and lived closer to Nashville. Many of my friends, and now clients, are still in that area. So, for this couple’s engagement session, we took it all the way up to Downtown Nashville!
You can probably already tell from this photo that the day was very overcast. I think that really benefitted us on this session though. Overcast skies create beautiful pink/orange sunsets!
Now I hardly ever have a reason to drive to Downtown Nashville anymore, so I forgot how rude and awful drivers can be at rush hour in the city. We started this session at 5pm on a weekday, so you can imagine what the traffic looked like. If you’re interested in having a session Downtown, I highly recommend doing it on a weekday (that no big events are occurring on) to avoid heavy pedestrian traffic. We were fortunate and had the minimal amount of other people at our location. Those that did sneak in our shots were pretty easy to edit out.
We started this session at the base of the Pedestrian Bridge, at Cumberland Park. My clients really wanted the Nashville Skyline in their photos. What a better place to shoot a Downtown Nashville engagement session than this?!
After exploring down by the Cumberland River, we took a little walk up the pedestrian bridge.
You guys know by now how much I love those walking shots! They feel so natural and really capture genuine moments.
The sun was in the perfect spot for these tighter romantic shots!
And, you can’t forget the detail shots. Look how gorgeous that ring is!
After our stroll on the bridge, we ended again by the river to capture those dreamy sunset shots. So gorgeous!
I loved the opportunity to capture this beautiful couple’s (inside and out!) engagement photos in Downtown Nashville. I can’t wait to see what a beautiful wedding they have next summer!
