For this lovely couple’s lifestyle session, we took it all the over to Hermitage, TN. One of the best parts of shooting around Middle Tennessee is that there is so much variety in really such a small area. Hermitage is really only about a 45 minute drive from Spring Hill – and it was so worth the drive!
I mean, look at those peaceful lake views! The day ended up being a little overcast, but it made for a beautiful sky with pink tones just before sunset. Luckily, the rain held off! It sprinkled a bit on us on our drive to the location. We actually were supposed to shoot this session the day before, but had to reschedule due to rain, so we were really glad we didn’t have to reschedule AGAIN!
After meeting Kelly and Devin at the location, we started out with a few casual walking photos. I just love walking photos! I feel like they capture so much life. You could tell right away they just love being around each other – capturing their joy was easy!
I guided Kelly and Devin with fun filled posing prompts, as I’m so used to doing it, but honestly I didn’t even have to! They were naturals. They just love smiling and having fun together. Twirling is one of my favorite fun little moves to capture on a session, so I was surprised when Kelly was the one who brought this idea up first. Yes, please twirl!
Since they were having so much fun and seemed up for more fun poses, I prompted Devin to pick Kelly up. So glad I did – because LOOK at these images!
Like come on – is that like a hallmark movie poster or what?! The sun was starting to get a little lower, so we finished with some snuggly photos in the grass and then headed back to their neighborhood. Kelly and Devin wanted to get some sunset photos with their furriest family member!
I am a strong believer that everyone needs a session with their pet. Our pets are one of the biggest pieces of our families after all!
Their sweet doggo had lots of energy, so we did what dogs love to do – go on a walk around the neighborhood! It made for some sweet family photos and also let our furry client get some energy out.
After our walk, I just told Kelly and Devin to love on their fur baby like they would at home and got some shots of them naturally interacting with him. I just love authentic candid moments and capturing families how they are.
