Middle Tennessee Christmas Activities

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this holiday season? I’ve got you covered! In this blog, you’ll find 10 family fun Christmas activities in Spring Hill and the surrounding Middle Tennessee area for you to enjoy. I’ve also thrown in some of my favorite images from my Christmas Minis from Southern Grace Tree Farm for your viewing pleasure. 😉

1. The Spring Hill Christmas Parade

The 2021 Kiwanis Spring Hill Christmas Parade will be held on December 11, 2021. The parade starts at 5:00 p.m. and the theme this year is “Sounds of the Season”. The parade begins at Evans Park and ends at the Spring Hill Elementary School. You can find a full map of the parade route here. Hopefully I’ll see you there!

2. Southern Grace Tree Farm

Of course, this is the farm where we hosted our Christmas Mini Sessions. If you haven’t gotten your tree yet, I highly encourage you to check them out! It’s a beautiful tree farm located in Culleoka, TN and the owner is just the nicest person ever! You can check out their website here.

3. The General Jackson Christmas Cruise

This is going to be our first year to go on the Music City Christmas Evening Cruise – and we’re so excited! The General Jackson Showboat takes off by Opry Mills and cruises up the Cumberland River. This cruise features a holiday dinner and a show featuring Christmas songs and dances. You can book a Christmas cruise from 12/12-1/2 on their website.

4. The Dancing Lights of Christmas in Wilson County

From what I hear, this display of lights is a fan favorite. This is a drive through light and music show priced at $30 per car. It’s located at the Wilson County Fairgrounds at 1033 Sparta Pike, Lebanon, TN 37087. They’re open Sunday-Thursday from 5-10 p.m. or Friday-Saturday from 5-11 p.m. You can find more information here.

5. The Spring Hill Library Holiday Show

If you’re looking for something more local, check out The Hilarious Ho Ho Holiday Show at the Spring Hill Public Library on Saturday, December 18 from 10:00-10:45 a.m. This show is for kids of all ages. The library has lots of fun happenings all the time. You can find a calendar of events here.

6. Light Up The Hill – Spring Hill Christmas Lights Contest

The Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill/Thompson’s Station hosts their annual city-wide decorating contest. We always like to check out the homes that have registered to be in the competition. It’s a fun night of driving around and family fun to see magical light displays – and it’s totally free! I suggest bringing hot chocolate to go, also. You can find the map of home listed here.

7. Holiday Lights at Cheekwood

Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, located in Southwest Nashville, features over a millions lights throughout their gardens on a one-mile walk through. You can also find real reindeer, a s’mores pit, a cash bar with seasonal drinks for mom and dad (spiked hot chocolate anyone?!), and the beautiful mansion fully decorated for Christmas. You can find more information about it here.

8. The Nutcracker at TPAC

Check out the classic live performance of Nashville’s Nutcracker by the Nashville Ballet at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Featuring dreamy costumes, stunning choreography by Paul Vasterling, live music performed by the Nashville Symphony, and of course the Sugar Plum Fairy. Find tickets and more information here.
